Design Technologist for Water Systems

Contribute to sustainable infrastructure as a Design Technologist focusing on Water and Wastewater at York Region. This hybrid permanent role emphasizes technical design and project management in an inclusive work environment.

As a Design Technologist II, you will report directly to the Project Manager and ensure efficient design and analysis of water and wastewater systems. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing contract documentation and evaluating design proposals, as well as overseeing project management reporting and construction inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing proposals and contract documents

• Review and comment on designs and specifications

• Conduct design investigations and analyses

• Monitor project management reporting effectively

• Liaise with stakeholders on construction projects

Requirements:

• Completed three-year diploma in relevant engineering technology

• Minimum three years of experience in water and wastewater

• Knowledge of operational and design principles

• Proficient in MS Office and AUTOCAD

• Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license
