Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Spectrum Health Care

Wage: $24 to $28 per hour, including travel and applicable premiums. Positions located in Georgina and Pefferlaw.

Personal Support Workers play a pivotal role in our health care system. They work closely with patients and their families, providing personal care and support with activities of daily living to ensure patients can recover safely or remain in their homes.

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding, etc.) in personal residences or facilities.
• Continuously assess, anticipate, identify, and respond to new and changing needs, communicating available Total Care resources when appropriate.
• Perform delegated and/or assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
• Travel within the assigned region between patients’ residences or facilities.

• Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or a Ministry of Education approved program.
• RN/RPN student who has completed at least year one of the program.
• Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
• Valid G2/G license with access to a vehicle.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, reach freely, lift 23 kg independently, and reposition clients.
• Exceptional personal care and customer service skills.
• Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
• Updated immunization record including TB test within the last 6 months.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills (additional languages considered an asset).
