THE ROLE

This role is designed for a data professional who sees spatial data as a strategic asset, and maps as tools for shaping the future. It offers a unique opportunity to influence how growth, infrastructure, and community data is leveraged, managed, and shared – moving the organization from descriptive mapping to predictive, insight‑driven decision making. The position delivers high‑impact geospatial and analytical leadership, advancing enterprise GIS and data‑driven initiatives across the department and with organizational and external partners.

WHAT

YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.
  • Acts as a lead and subject matter expert to identify, collect, and analyze data sources to develop and advance initiatives and programs.
  • Contributes as a subject matter expert on joint data analytics projects and participates in collaborative efforts where applicable.
  • Responsible for full solution development life‑cycle including identifying and documenting user requirements, providing data insights to support user needs, development project work‑plans, and developing testing and implementing solutions.
  • Conducts data research and needs analysis and provides support in developing and implementing solutions and/or work plans for projects in collaboration with Department staff, local municipalities and other stakeholders.
