Senior Building Operations Supervisor

Lead building maintenance in Newmarket with HVAC and electrical systems expertise for York Region’s permanent full-time Senior Building Operator position.

Under the Supervisor, Maintenance & Operations, this senior position supports safe, hazard-free facilities. You will direct Building Operators and Maintenance staff, maintain mechanical and electrical systems, and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled work. The role covers HVAC, life safety systems, contractors, and preventative maintenance.

• Assign tasks and provide direction to building operations staff
• Monitor maintenance progress and report concerns to the Supervisor
• Maintain operating procedures for major building equipment
• Update computerized preventative maintenance programs and tenant requests
• Supervise contractors and review repair or replacement needs

• Secondary School Graduation Diploma and Building Environmental Systems Levels I and II
• Three to five years of related work direction and project leadership experience
• Maintenance experience in buildings of at least 350,000 square feet
• Knowledge of building operations, maintenance, HVAC, and electrical systems
• Knowledge of Ontario codes, legislation, confined-space procedures, and testing equipment
