We are excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to join Southlake as Director, Facilities Operations.
Reporting to the Vice President, Facilities, Infrastructure & Chief Development Officer, the Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Building Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Energy Management and Biomedical Engineering, in support of Southlake’s quality patient care.
The Director is accountable for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of hospital facilities, systems and infrastructure, including architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and life safety systems and ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. An advocate for excellence in facilities management, the Director will leverage superlative cross-disciplinary communication skills to drive collaboration and alignment in support of Southlake’s clinical priorities and strategic objectives.

The Director supports Southlake’s capital redevelopment agenda, providing subject matter expertise for infrastructure projects and implementation coordination.
** What you’ll be doing:
*** Lead strategic and operational planning for Facilities Management in alignment with Southlake’s goals.
* Oversee daily operations and maintenance of hospital facilities, infrastructure and equipment.
* Manage Southlake’s energy management roadmap in support of operational efficiency and Southlake’s sustainability objectives.
* Provide subject matter expertise for capital projects, including design consultation and project coordination.
* Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and investment.
* Lead and mentor a team of skilled professionals while fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders, government partners, and vendors.

* What you bring:

*** Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities management and operations.
* Strong technical knowledge of building systems, infrastructure maintenance, and facilities management
* Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budget management, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infrastructure compliance.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to manage complex priorities.
* Professional designations such as
** P.Eng., CET, PMP, or CHFM
** are considered assets.
