Job Opportunity

Mecsmart is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Builder to join our team. You’ll be responsible for carrying out tasks and duties to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity is attained during equipment assembly. Work with emphasis on excellent craftsmanship and quality. Excellent technical knowledge and skill. Ensure all environmental, health and safety standards are met. High energy with excellent communication. Strive towards World Class Manufacturing (WCM).

This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex problems. We offer opportunities at Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels, depending on experience and skill set.

What you’ll do
  • Precision alignments and set ups of mechanical components
  • Installation of pneumatic components
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and modify tooling
  • Identify any material or purchase item issues
  • Document all build changes
  • Install components by following schematics, drawings and specifications
  • Installation of all plumbing required for the actuation of components
  • Manufacture tooling as needed/directed
  • Operational excellence and discipline (WCM)
  • Utilize toolroom equipment as needed
  • Support problem solving during assembly, warranty or service
  • Maintain a 5S and visual plant floor
  • Ensure active communication throughout the build process that includes status of day to day tasks or problems encountered
  • Establish and maintain a safe work environment
  • Support equipment tear downs, packaging, rigging, transportation and installation
  • Adherence to all applicable codes and standards
What you’ll need
  • Certificate of Qualification in Precision Metals (General Machinist, Mould Maker, Tool & Die Maker) or Millwright
  • Must supply and maintain own personal trade tools
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in automation equipment assembly
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel globally for installations and service
  • Must supply your own tools
