The OpportunityNature’s Emporium is seeking a Category Manager Health & Beauty to lead the strategic planning, assortment, merchandising, and margin performance of our Health & Beauty category. This includes personal care, beauty, wellness lifestyle, and non ingestible health categories such as skin care, body care, hair care, cosmetics, oral care, hygiene, fragrances, and related wellness accessories. This role reports to the Vice President of Merchandising and works cross functionally with Purchasing, Marketing, Operations, and Store teams to deliver commercially successful assortments while upholding our clean beauty standards and brand values.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies and annual plans aligned with company objectives
- Own the Health & Beauty assortment strategy including SKU rationalization, innovation, pricing architecture, and key item selection
- Lead vendor and brand relationships including sourcing, negotiations, promotional funding, and joint business planning
- Ensure all products meet Nature’s Emporium ingredient standards, clean beauty guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Manage item setup and ongoing maintenance in Oracle Net Suite including costing, retails, pack sizes, claims, and category hierarchy accuracy
- Monitor and analyze category performance including sales, margin, inventory turns, and promotional effectiveness
- Deliver regular reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership
- Partner with Marketing to support promotions, digital campaigns, education initiatives, and in store merchandising
- Collaborate with Store Operations to ensure consistent execution across all locations
- Identify growth opportunities through innovation, exclusive partnerships, and emerging clean beauty trends
- Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising within Health & Beauty, personal care, beauty, or lifestyle retail
- Strong understanding of natural, clean, and ethical beauty standards
- Proven success in vendor management, pricing strategy, and assortment optimization
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Experience working with ERP or category management systems such as Oracle Net Suite
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment

This position falls within a salary band of $65,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience, and includes an annual bonus opportunity tied to business and category performance. Extended health and dental benefits are provided.
