Pickering College is an independent day‑boarding school in Newmarket, Ontario, offering education from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. We seek a sales associate for our Hilltop Shop to support students, families, and staff through retail, customer service, inventory, and product knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide exceptional customer experiences by identifying client needs.
- Serve as a Uniform expert and understand uniform expectations for all students and occasions.
- Be knowledgeable in all departments and assist clients in any area as required.
- Operate POS system efficiently for cash, account, and credit card sales and returns.
- Execute daily store tasks, visual merchandising plans, and housekeeping duties in a timely manner.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Meet sales targets while considering student customers and parent expectations.
- Build productive trust relationships with all clients.
- Apply inventory control and loss prevention procedures.
- Assist with physical inventory procedures twice annually.
- Complete all tasks following safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as required.
- 1–3 years of retail or sales experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Solid computer proficiency – Excel, POS systems, inventory management.
- Self‑motivated with ownership and initiative.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Able to lift and carry up to 15 kg.
- Comfortable climbing a ladder using safe ladder practices.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Report required as a condition of employment.

Hourly rate: $20.00 – $22.00
