We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return by demonstrating product knowledge, customer experience skills, and the use of the Force.
- Step in and step up when needed, covering the sales floor and providing leadership support when your Manager is pulled away.
- Open and close the store as required.
- Work the register; process sales transactions, drive add‑on sales using BOPIS and curbside pickup, close out the register, and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
- Understand store sales plans, comp sales goals, and key KPIs: UPT and ADT.
- Assist with planogram changes including store map, wall, fixture, and merchandising mix.
- Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and respective HQ partners.
- Work with Store Management to prevent misuse of spells and wizardry around theft.
- Maintain the mother ship; help keep the stock room organized and the store tidy.
- Help develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store alongside you.
- Perform any other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.
- At least 1 year of retail store experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus.
- Strong communication, time‑management, and professionalism skills, along with a drive to develop your team.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved store equipment, and pack and unpack boxes of merch that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
