Senior Transportation Specialist

Join York Region as a Senior Transportation Specialist and drive meaningful initiatives in transportation equity and demand planning. This hybrid position focuses on developing procedures and comprehensive reports.

In your role, you will report to the Program Manager and contribute significantly to vital transportation planning projects and policies. Your experience in data analysis and transportation systems will aid in preparing key documents and ensuring they align with legislative standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and publish policies on transportation capacity and equity

• Implement the Regional Transportation Master Plan effectively

• Create brochures and reports for internal and external stakeholders

• Provide data for Transportation Equity and Rapid Transit models

• Defend methodologies at meetings with senior management

Requirements:

• University degree or equivalent in relevant fields

• At least five years of experience in transportation planning

• Familiarity with transit models and sustainable practices

• Knowledge of relevant planning legislation and policies

• Membership in a recognized professional organization
