We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing Building Services consultancy based in Newmarket. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong technical knowledge and a proven background in mechanical building services design. The role would suit someone located within a commutable distance of Newmarket who is happy to work from the office at least 3 days per week.

You will be involved in the design and delivery of a variety of commercial, residential, education, and mixed‑use projects from concept through to completion.

• Produce mechanical building services designs including HVAC, heating, ventilation, and public health systems
• Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, and technical reports
• Coordinate designs with internal and external project teams
• Attend client and design meetings
• Support project delivery from feasibility through to construction stage
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards
• Liaise with contractors, architects, and consultants throughout project delivery
• Mentor and support junior engineers where required

• Minimum 6‑7 years' experience within Mechanical Building Services Design
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems design
• Experience working within a consultancy or contractor design environment
• Proficient with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, or similar
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE standards
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence preferred
