Plant Operator

We are recruiting for a Plant Operator to join our client's team within a specialist manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or production experience who is looking to develop their skills within a hands-on plant operation role.

As a Plant Operator, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient manufacture, drying and packing of materials. Working as part of a small team, you will help ensure production targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained and all health, safety and environmental procedures are followed.

• Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manufacture, dry and pack materials in line with production requirements.
• Take production samples for quality control testing.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures, including the safe handling of potentially hazardous materials.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Work closely with colleagues and management to meet production deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve production processes and efficiency.
• Support other departments when required.

• At least four GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, or 1-2 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• An understanding of working safely with chemicals and potentially hazardous materials.
• A strong focus on health, safety and following procedures.
• Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
• A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude.
• The ability to work independently when required.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.

• A chemistry-related degree.
• Three to five years' industrial experience in fine chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This is a hands-on, plant-based role involving standing, walking, operating equipment and handling materials. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment, wearing the required PPE and following strict safety procedures.

The role may involve lifting or moving weights of 25kg or more with assistance.
