We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk. The Primary Care team consists of 15 staff, including Senior Primary Care Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Non-Medical Prescribers.
Highpoint is split into two sites: the North Building hosts around 390 males and the South Building hosts around 950 males. Both sites have designated Healthcare Departments, and you will be based in one of them.

: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 6:15pm. Included weekends. - Salary
: £51,643 – £58,012 per annum, depending on experience. - Pension

- Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and care teams.
- Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
- Collaborate with partners to maintain a robust, high‑quality clinical service for patients.
- Drive forward clinical projects and initiatives.
- Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
- Coach, line‑manage and develop clinical staff; support audits, governance and the development of local operating protocols.
- Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings, provide clinical supervision (training available) and conduct investigations locally and for the wider region.
- Registered Nurse with current professional qualification (NMC) and evidence of continued professional development.
- Existing clinical leadership experience – leading teams is essential.
- Experience as a safeguarding lead is desirable; training can be offered.
- Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working in complex settings.
- Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is advantageous but not essential.
