Are you a detail-driven E-Commerce Merchandiser who enjoys getting under the skin of technical products and making sure every detail is right?
We’re working with a fast-growing consumer brand that designs and sells a premium range of products directly to customers online. With an expanding and increasingly technical product range, they’re looking for a meticulous E-Commerce Merchandiser to take ownership of product data from initial supplier information right through to the finished product appearing online.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is happy with detail and knows what makes an e-commerce site tick. You’ll be working with product specifications, technical information, pricing, imagery and website content, ensuring everything is accurate, consistent as well as commercially effective.
The Role – E-Commerce MerchandiserSitting at the heart of the product data lifecycle, you’ll take information from factories and suppliers and turn it into accurate, complete and customer-ready product listings.
Net Suite acts as the central source of product information before data flows into Shopify and ultimately onto the live website. You’ll make sure that journey happens accurately, spotting inconsistencies, filling gaps and ensuring everything from dimensions and materials to pricing, imagery and product specifications is correct.
Alongside the data side of the role, there’s a strong commercial merchandising element. You’ll build your knowledge of the range, identify sensible upselling opportunities, monitor competitor pricing and make sure customers are given all the information they need to make the right purchase.
- Creating and maintaining accurate product records within Net Suite and Shopify.
- Collating detailed product information from factories, suppliers and the purchasing team, including specifications, dimensions, materials, packaging, costs and supplier details.
- Managing the flow of product information between Net Suite and Shopify and resolving discrepancies between the two systems.
- Maintaining consistent SKUs, product names, categories and attributes across the product range.
- Building complete Shopify listings including descriptions, specifications, variants, pricing, imagery, collections and metafields.
- Understanding how Shopify metafields feed into website functionality including filters, specifications, badges and content.
- Carrying out regular audits of existing product listings and correcting errors or missing information.
- Checking products on the live website to make sure information is displayed correctly and the customer journey works as intended.
- Using detailed product knowledge to identify relevant cross-sell and upsell opportunities including accessories, complementary products and care products.
- Ensuring accurate product care, maintenance and material information is available to customers.
- Onboarding new direct dispatch and drop-ship suppliers and setting their products up correctly across the relevant systems.
- Reviewing competitor pricing and highlighting commercial opportunities or potential risks.
- Managing drop-ship purchase orders and ensuring orders and supplier billing are processed accurately through Net Suite.
- Working closely with buying, purchasing, operations, customer service and web teams to maintain the quality of product information.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make product data more accurate and efficient.
Above all, you’ll be someone who is exceptionally good with detail. You’ll naturally spot inconsistencies and errors and you’ll be comfortable working methodically through large amounts of product information without allowing accuracy to slip.
Ideally, you’ll already have experience within e-commerce merchandising, product merchandising, product data or a similar role involving relatively technical or specification-heavy products. You might have worked with furniture, homeware, electricals, DIY, consumer technology, automotive products or another environment where getting product specifications right really matters.
You’ll also ideally bring:
- Experience using Shopify and preferably Net Suite or another ERP system.
- An understanding of Shopify…
