• Provide leadership to effectively plan, coordinate and implement instructional programs that ensure students have opportunities to reach their highest social, emotional and academic potential.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and time designated.
• Select and present materials required in the teaching assignment within the framework of state and system curriculum guides.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
• Develop and implement classroom technology solutions, including audio, video, graphics, research technologies and other tools to facilitate learning.
• Prepare for assigned classes and show evidence of preparation upon request of the principal or designee.
• Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Provide adequate background information and materials when a substitute teacher assumes responsibilities.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance as defined by the system or local school handbook.
• Comply with conditions stated in the contract of employment.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior, maintain order in a fair and just manner.
• Attend staff, department, team or grade level meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
• Participate in the state annual evaluation process.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by Building Administrators.

Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and state required certification. Must have Gifted ELA Certification.

• Ability to organize, coordinate, plan, and direct the implementation of a comprehensive classroom instruction program.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, and competency in counseling and evaluating student needs.

Successful teacher training and/or teaching experiences at the level to which assigned.
