Lead Estimator

The Lead Estimator oversees all estimating activities and ensures the accurate, consistent, and timely preparation of project bids across multiple product lines. This role provides day-to-day leadership and technical direction to the estimating team while serving as the primary resource for complex, high-value, or strategically important estimates. You would work closely with individual estimators, acting as a coach and mentor to strengthen skills, reinforce company standards, and foster continuous improvement.

This position is also responsible for coordinating and delivering training sessions, developing best‑practice tools, and ensuring new estimators are properly onboarded. By collaborating with design, operations, and sales, and by applying deep industry knowledge and historical data, this role drives estimating accuracy, team development, and profitability across the organization.

• Provide direction and supportto the estimation team
• Perform comprehensive product takeoffs as needed
• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepareaccurateestimatesas needed
• Analyze historical data toidentifytrends and inform future estimates
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards throughout the estimation process
• Develop customer proposals for review by sales
• Develop knowledge of company manufactured products to be able to answer customer/sales questionsregardingproduct information and pricing - become a product expert
• Identify opportunities and organize tofacilitatetraining events with the intent to relay information, including but not limited to best practices, process adjustments and improvingproficiencyof team members (internal and external) and hence memorializing into SOP
• Collaborate with management to Identify process improvements to improve the agility of the department/organization and give way to competitive advantage.
• Objectively Evaluating the effectiveness of estimates which meet specifications and arefeasiblefor manufacturing without compromising constructability.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the building materials industry.
• Strong knowledge of building materials, construction processes, and pricing structures.
• Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
• Working knowledge of ERP/Inventory Control Software, preferably Titan orStack It
• Familiarity with analyzing requirement data/documents to develop material and cost estimates for large projects

• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
