Purchasing Agent - Homebuilding

Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $83,000.00/yr

Location:

Newnan, Georgia – on-site, 5 days a week.

Experience with Newstar strongly preferred.

• Strategic Sourcing
  :
  Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure high quality, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
• Contract Management
  :
  Prepare, review, and manage vendor and subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and project specifications.
• Budget Oversight
  :
  Monitor and manage budgets for assigned projects, proactively identifying and resolving any cost overruns.
• Vendor Relations
  :
  Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to foster long-term partnerships and effective collaboration.
• Bid Management
  :
  Lead the bid process for construction materials and services, analyze proposals, and recommend best-value options.
• Market Analysis
  :
  Stay current on market trends, material pricing, and availability to advise on purchasing strategies and risk mitigation.
• Process Improvement
  :
  Continually evaluate purchasing processes and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and cost savings.
• Collaboration
  :
  Work closely with project managers, construction crews, and design teams to ensure purchasing decisions meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Inventory Control
  :
  Oversee inventory management processes to minimize waste and ensure sufficient stock of critical materials.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2+ years of purchasing experience in the homebuilding/construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, building codes, and local suppliers in the Newnan/Atlanta area.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in purchasing/inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
