Production Strategy Supervisor – Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA
Summary: The Production Strategy Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing Bill of Material Planning, production planning, long lead time part planning and domestic part planning for their specific product line. They will need to study workloads and estimate time required to complete assignments accurately and on time. Responsible for process documentation creation and revision control along with generating training records.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain work instructions to document processes and ensure accuracy.
- Provide guidance to subordinates to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Direct a staff of non-exempt employees.
- Protect the accuracy of Bill of Materials.
- Manage production sequences within the constraints of Operations.
- Cover all planning functions during absenteeism.
- Supervise activity revolving around potential impacts regarding domestic or long lead time parts.
- Monitor and track employee vacation and absenteeism.
- Exercise judgment in personnel process or procedural areas of concern.
- Advise higher-level management on work-related issues that could cause problems on the assembly line and their impact on productivity and/or the customer.
- Ensure accuracy of the monthly production report to Japan.
- Handle all system change requests for PYMAC to Japan for the product line.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated; knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP / PYMAC / inventory control desired.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Two-year degree or equivalent experience in a technical field required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role.
- Manufacturing experience required.
