Job Title

Saw Operator (Inspecting and Packing Material)

Reporting Structure

Shift Supervisor, with direction from department Team Leader.

Shift & Compensation

1st shift Monday – Friday 5:00 am – 1:00 pm, 40+ hours per week; occasional overtime and Saturdays.

Starting pay: $19.24 plus opportunities to earn more.

Responsibilities
  • Properly package finished product to customer specifications.
  • Attach identification data onto article.
  • Record damages to goods.
  • Assure cores are proper length for product and set correctly.
  • Work in a safe manner, wearing all required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free workstation.
  • Participate in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accept feedback from the Team Leader to ensure bundles meet safety standards.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
  • Occasional stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts; noise level usually loud and no air conditioning.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must pass a skills‑based test.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; self‑motivated; minimum of three months related experience or will train hands‑on.
  • Must pass company background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail‑oriented.
