The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care. They function within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrate professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care.

QualificationsEducation
- Graduate from a nursing program (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- No experience required;
New graduates of a nursing program eligible - Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting (Preferred)
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Required)
- RN - Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure (Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License) – Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support – Required
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
- Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification required within 180 days
- Critical Care: ACLS Certification required within 180 days
- Dialysis: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) – Preferred
- Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS Certification required within 180 days; experienced nurses have 6 months to obtain PALS
- Infusion/Oncology:
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification required prior to independent chemotherapy administration – Required - Pediatrics: PALS Certification required within 180 days; in some facilities PEARS or PALS Certification required within 180 days
- Surgical Services:
Pre Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU – ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients; BLS required within 180 days – Required - Women’s Services:
Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification required within 180 days; NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program, Mother/Baby NRP, NICU NRP, and NAT NRP required within 180 days – Required
