American Traveler is hiring an experienced Step Down RN for an oncology facility, requiring 2 years of telemetry/stepdown experience and OCN/ONS certification.

• Step down unit within an oncology facility
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Float and weekend work required
• Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation
• SBAR communication protocol used
• 48 hours of orientation provided

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) in hand, no pending licenses accepted
• BSN required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, OCN, and ONS/ONCC
• Chemotherapy certification required, in hand with no pending status
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac telemetry/stepdown/PCU setting required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with blood product administration and IV therapy/phlebotomy

• Provide oncology step down nursing care including cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Black scrubs required (not provided)
• Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
• No restrictive RTO rules
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 75-mile radius
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
