Registered Nurse – Oncology (BMT / Stem Cell)

Newnan, GA | Inpatient Oncology

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend (or less) based on staffing

• Provide inpatient oncology nursing care within a start-up BMT/Stem Cell program, sharing clinical expertise to support and mentor existing nursing staff
• Administer chemotherapy via continuous infusion, IV push, and oral routes; manage body fluid handling and cytotoxic spill disposal in accordance with safety protocols
• Monitor and manage oncologic emergencies including Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
• Care for central lines, PICC lines, and implanted ports including blood draws, line care, and infusion pump management; administer blood and blood products
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values; provide patient and family education and support throughout the treatment continuum
• Float to IMCU as needed based on background; utilize Epic for documentation and Pyxis medication system; apply SBAR communication standards

• Active Georgia RN license in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years in specialty required per compliance guidelines
• BLS certification required (AHA only; Heart Code not accepted)
• ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Chemotherapy certification required (must be in hand at time of submission; no pending certifications accepted)
• Demonstrated skills in BMT, inpatient oncology, stem cell therapies, chemotherapy administration, graft rejection, and graft-versus-host disease management
• Candidates within a 75-mile radius are considered local and are welcome to apply at the local rate
• Flu vaccine or signed flu declination form required during flu season (October–March)
• Former employees of the facility will not be considered for travel positions

• 5 years of RN experience preferred; BMT, stem cell, or cellular therapy experience is a strong plus
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred
• Experience with immunotherapy, interferons, interleukins, PCA pump management, telemetry interpretation, and tracheostomy or wound care
• Familiarity with hospice care, advanced directives, neutropenic precautions, and post-surgical oncology care
