Our client is a stable real estate organization in Orange County, and this is a newly created role supporting both corporate and Principal's investments. The position reports to the AVP of Accounting. We are seeking an Accountant with experience supporting smaller organizations, who is highly involved in daily operations as well as monthly reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach and seeks stability in their career.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with monthly financial reporting and quarterly investor reports
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
• Perform variance analysis
• Support the preparation of the annual budget
• Assist in year-end audit preparations
• Prepare annual reports for third-party entities and ensure compliance with tax requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience, including balance sheet and SG&A account reconciliations
• Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance is preferred but not mandatory
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with MRI software is a plus
• Industry experience in investment, real estate, outsourced accounting, or family office is advantageous
• Strong Excel skills
