AVP​/VP Fund Operations

An alternative investment management firm is seeking an AVP/VP of Fund Operations to support its hedge fund platform. This person will work closely with senior leadership, investment professionals and external service providers across fund accounting, financial reporting and investment operations. The role offers an opportunity to strengthen controls, implement systems and build processes that support the firm’s growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly close and review NAV calculations, investment valuations, fees and expenses prepared by the fund administrator.
• Review cash, position and transaction reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution with administrators, brokers and internal teams.
• Maintain independent accounting records and controls to validate administrator reporting and ensure accurate treatment of investment activity.
• Support cash management, trade activity and financial reporting, including analysis of fund performance and investment balances.
• Coordinate annual audits, financial statement preparation and requests from external service providers.
• Help implement investment accounting systems, improve reporting and automate reconciliation and operational processes.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience, ideally combining public accounting audit experience with in‑house fund accounting or operations.
• Strong hedge fund accounting background; experience with credit investments, bank loans or other complex securities preferred.
• Solid understanding of NAV, investment accounting, reconciliations and fund administrator oversight.
• Experience improving systems, controls and processes in a growing investment management environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail and a hands‑on approach.
