DescriptionJob Captains possess organizational skills and can work on multiple assignments simultaneously, completing tasks with minimal supervision. All work is checked by a Project Architect/Project Leader or Project Manager. The quality, quantity, and accuracy of the Job Captain’s work are notably higher than that of the Senior Drafter.
Duties / Responsibilities- Follow tBP’s Guide to Quality Control and Project Management manual.
- Adhere to company standard CADD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
- Prepare drawing sheets as directed by Architects.
- Complete schedule sheets, draft details and assigned tasks accurately and on schedule.
- Read, understand and coordinate Architectural and Consultant drawings.
- Work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Complete assignments with minimal direction.
- Meet regularly with the team to communicate project progress.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable codes.
- Guide, supervise and assist junior team members in project completion.
- Adhere to the schedule and budget.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and competence in the Building Codes.
- Perform code search during Design Development and follow up during Construction Documents.
- Proficient at interpreting drawings and working with AutoCAD.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Revit.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with a minimum of 3-4 years equivalent experience in an architectural environment.
