Neurologist - Neuromuscular Specialist

Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, CA is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuromuscular Specialist to join our growing team. As a Hoag Health Physician, the role spans from performing outpatient clinical care in an office-based setting to spearheading the program’s strategic development, management, and visionary planning. The position also involves active participation in clinical and translational research, philanthropical efforts, and pioneering advances in movement disorders care.

• Outpatient based only, no hospital call.
• Perform and interpret EMG studies.
• Manage common neuromuscular disorders and be familiar with advanced conditions such as CIDP, inflammatory muscle and nerve disorders, and genetic neuromuscular disorders.
• Build a robust neurodiagnostic service, including EMGs, and develop the infrastructure for future service growth.
• Build a nerve and muscle biopsy and pathology program.
• Collaborate with other HSC neurologists to build multidisciplinary services for disorders such as MDS, MG, ALS.
• Develop a research portfolio for neuromuscular medicine and have prior experience with clinical trials or translational research.
• Collaborate with other neurologists to build a neurogenetics service.
• May support Irvine and San Clemente locations as the program expands.
• Call responsibilities may be required; details to be discussed.

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology, and Neuromuscular Medicine or Neurophysiology.
• Fellowship trained in neuromuscular medicine from an accredited program.
• Unrestricted California license as a physician.
• A track record of excellence in teaching, patient care, research, and administration.
