Equipment Technician, CMP – Tower Semiconductor
Responsible for performing advanced level repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance for semiconductor equipment in the Diffusion area. Must demonstrate ability to take a leadership role in evaluating and providing maintenance requirements to ensure maximum availability of production equipment. Interfaces with Production and Engineers to identify and resolve process‑related issues and provide technical guidance to other lower‑level technicians. Determines methods and procedures for new assignments and may informally lead the activities of the area shift pass‑downs, setting priorities based on production requirements for the rest of the team.
Requires the ability to work on difficult tasks as an independent contributor and in a team environment.
Shift: Sunday – Tuesday and every other Saturday 5:30 pm – 5:30 am.
This Job Is For You If- Perform complex machinery problem‑solving of semiconductor equipment in a production environment for the CMP area and participate on problem‑solving teams.
- Work under the direction of an Equipment Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to plan and execute improvement project initiatives.
- Develop own resources to solve problems and provide imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems producing significant results.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technical solutions or new work methods.
- Lead and direct activities to develop or improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems.
- Collect equipment‑specific performance data working with Engineering to develop and implement solutions to equipment‑specific failures based on collected Pareto data and tool deficiencies.
- Provide technical equipment‑specific training to lower‑level technicians.
- Interface and direct vendor support to resolve equipment‑related failures.
- Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair malfunctioning equipment to component level as needed.
- Take a lead role in resolving process issues and participate in yield investigations.
- Use proper judgment in resolving problems, carrying out assignments, and making recommendations.
- Participate and lead or direct ERT/Safety events during the absence of supervision.
- Ensure all required parts are on order and follow up to minimize equipment MTTR.
- Work independently with minimal support.
- Be viewed as a technical expert in more than one production tool type.
- Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years technical experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro‑mechanical system operations and maintenance, able to work with minimal or no assistance.
- Strong knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum and pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits, motor control systems, and test procedures; ability to troubleshoot to component level.
- Direct working experience with at least one of the listed toolsets: AMAT Mirra Mesa and Speed Fam Auriga platforms.
- OnTrak systems experience is also desirable.
Wage band: $28/hr – $45/hr
