Bluecrest’s competitive advantage stems from its long-standing industry relationships and its fully integrated property management, asset management, and data analytics platform.

Since 2018, Bluecrest principals have been investing preferred equity in multifamily assets on behalf of large institutional investors. In 2022, Bluecrest principals were the largest seller of multifamily in the US and has consistently delivered exceptional results, with deal level IRRs exceeding 30% annually since inception. Going forward, Bluecrest is looking to acquire high-quality multifamily assets across the Sunbelt and continue to invest preferred equity in multifamily development projects.

Bluecrest is adding an Investment Analyst to support our multifamily investment team in Newport Beach, CA. The Investment Analyst will work on multifamily acquisitions as well as preferred equity investments in multifamily development projects. They will provide support for all activities from initial underwriting through closing. This person will split time underwriting acquisitions and new loans. They must be comfortable with high deal volume and will be working on several projects  ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and have outstanding underwriting and business writing skills.

They will work directly with an experienced, close-knit team looking to rapidly scale our investment portfolio.

The Investment Analyst will be preparing and assembling multifamily valuations, market studies, executive summaries, and investment memorandums. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills and be an effective problem-solver.

Responsibilities
  • Review all underwriting materials
  • Analyze income and expense statements
  • Perform market studies
  • Maintain a detailed investment pipeline and communicate with senior management
  • Create executive summaries and investment memorandums
  • Underwrite new loans and preferred equity investments including sponsor diligence, market analysis, budget and schedule reviews, and base case and downside scenarios DSCR, debt yield, LTV, exit metrics
  • Build and maintain cash flow and waterfall models for A note and B note structures and for preferred equity with full return waterfalls and sensitivity tables
  • Partner with bank counter parties on whole loan structures intercreditor administration for A note and B note, consents, waivers, and remedies
  • Work with closing team on completing checklist items

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field
  • You have one to three years of experience in multifamily real estate finance
    - We will count relevant experience in an internship.
  • You have at least one year of experience underwriting multifamily acquisitions and/or loans
  • You have at least one year of experience as an Analyst or Intern.
  • You have advanced computer skills; including Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You have excellent writing skills
