** Job Description
** U.S. Bank has a rare Accountant opportunity which will support our loan accounting function by ensuring accurate, timely financial records across systems and ledgers. This individual will maintain adequate accounting controls, reconcile general and subsidiary ledgers, and prepare management and regulatory reports. We are seeking a strong communicator who can build positive partnerships as this individual will respond to inquiries on accounting policies and issues from management, external auditors, internal partners, customers, and regulators.
** Responsibilities:**
* ** Process loan activity daily:
** post loans, process incoming wires, and balance spreadsheets in Excel and updating our system of record.
* ** Reconcile accounts and systems:
** tie out internal ledgers with
** AFS
* * and
** Loan IQ**; maintain general and subsidiary ledger integrity.
* ** Partner cross‑functionally
** with Housing Capital Loan Administration, Lending Services, and Syndications to resolve exceptions and align on loan activity.
* ** Prepare and develop reports
** for management and/or regulatory authorities; support audit requests and compliance reviews.
*** This role requires working from the posted U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
*** Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience - Five or more years of experience in financial accounting activities
Preferred Skills/Experience - Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong understanding of loan fundamentals
- Considerable knowledge of loan accounting and reconciliation - Considerable knowledge of account balancing, reporting, and analysis
- Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
