Job Description Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The Supervisor of Business Services oversees the processes, productivity, and daily operations within their assigned area. Responsible for employee performance management, including recruitment, hiring, and employee retention. Creates schedules, facilitates department meetings, and identifies and coordinates training. Monitors productivity and quality and ensures adherence to departmental and hospital policies. Tracks financial and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Acts as an escalation point for issues that arise. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) years’ experience in hospital Revenue Cycle required.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Three years’ experience in hospital AR management and Medicare and medi-Cal, PPO/HMO claim adjudications required.
- Experience in all phases of billing and working knowledge of federal and state regulations and requirements related to government billing.
- Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare staffing, scheduling, or clinical operations required.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Two years’ of experience in Registration, customer service, business services, or insurance verification experience required.
- Knowledge of EPIC, Outlook, Excel, Word and power point preferred.
- Experience in hospital scheduling, registration, and insurance verification process required.
- Knowledge of insurance medical necessity policies and guidelines required.
- Knowledge of all phases of the insurance verification and authorization guidelines for hospital inpatient, surgeries, and OP services preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD 9/10 and CPT-4 coding preferred.
- Experience in AR management and PPO/HMO claims adjudication.
- Experience in billing and contract reimbursement for all payors required.
- Knowledge of all phases of the billing and follow-up process and knowledge federal and state regulations pertaining to billing and fair credit collection practices preferred.
- Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies including DRGs, APCs, and standard payment methodology preferred.
- License Vocation Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse or Not Credentialed.
