The HR Generalist will participate in firm-wide HR projects as a member of our HR Team. Our ideal candidate will be a proactive and strategic thinker who is passionate about building strong relationships and fostering a positive work environment. They will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals. A highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.

This role is 100% in-office due to the collaborative nature. Travel is expected in this role and is anticipated to be approximately 30%.

The Job Essentials Employee Relations & HR Administration
  • Assists with annual performance review process, includes portal setup, spreadsheet/report management, and ensure business groups meet deadlines for completing performance reviews
  • Compiles reports from PEO Portal database that meet information needs of management and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain all new hire paperwork including pre-employment, offers, verifications, and onboarding paperwork once hired.
  • Maintains all employee files in compliance with Company guidelines and local regulations.
  • Manages pre-hire process inclusive of background checks, and other pre-employment testing.
  • Manages Benefit Open Enrollment process, including plan options, employee materials, etc.
  • Assist and collaborate on matters pertaining to recruitment, orientation, employee relations, policy development, leadership development, and organizational learning.
  • Assist with Human Resources personnel functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leaves and worker's comp management, legal compliance, contract management, data management, employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management.
  • Provide performance management guidance to supervisors and assist supervisors with coaching, disciplining, and terminating employees.
Department Leadership
  • Review current processes and procedures to gain efficiencies.
  • Ensure regional offices operate consistently with the Newport Office, acting as a resource center to ensure they feel part of the team including travelling for onsite visits to build a positive rapport with all regional office employees.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with employees across the organization.
Organizational Development
  • Manage employee engagement activities including employee recognition programs, employee appreciation, and any special events that promote employee engagement and support.
  • Coordinate training programs that align with BKM goals and objectives.
  • Support the motivation of talent through recognition, rewards program, and regular activities.
Talent Acquisition & Management
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment and employee lifecycle tasks such as recruiting and tracking recruiting efforts, new hire orientation, employee onboarding, promotions, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to maximize and support the use of the company’s defined recruiting practices and applicant tracking system (ATS). Evaluate methods to improve and influence the effectiveness of selection processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers to ensure BKM recruits and hires exceptional and diverse talent.
Employee Engagement
  • Partner with Marketing on regular and recurring employee engagement activities including cultural committee and monthly company events
  • Assist in planning annual holiday event to include selection of venue, activities and schedule during the day and the evening, travel, hotel accommodations, etc.
  • Assist in plan annual summer training event (“Operation Education”) to include selection of venue, the activities and schedule for the day, travel, hotel accommodations, etc.
  • Coordinate training programs that align with BKM goals and objectives. Support the motivation of talent through recognition, rewards program, and regular activities
Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude to learn new software and systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience as HR Generalist
  • HRIS experience is a plus
  • Willing to travel up to 10% to regional sites
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the job
