Senior Data Engineer

Location:

Newport Beach, CA (Onsite 4 days / Hybrid) – Duration:
Long Term Contract. The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for enterprise‑scale analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python, Snowflake, ETL frameworks, and Airflow orchestration, with a strong understanding of modern data platforms and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi‑structured data using Python and Airflow.
  • Develop and maintain Snowflake‑based data warehouses.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (cloud storage, APIs, databases) into unified data models.
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting for pipeline health.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Optimize workflows for high‑volume, near real‑time data processing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data ingestion and transformation.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
  • Hands‑on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security).
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT design and orchestration using Apache Airflow.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and query optimization.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and storage services (S3, ADLS).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Dev Ops practices.
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Exposure to data lake architectures and streaming frameworks.
