Foreign Legal Consultant

Falcon Rappaport & Berkman LLP seeks a Foreign Legal Consultant. The job site is located at 1201 Dove Street, Suite 400, Newport Beach, CA 92660. The position requires an L.L.M. with specialization in Business, Taxes, or Finance, and the ability to sit for the California State Bar.

Job Duties:

Research nuanced areas of law, specific to both federal and state tax.

Draft appropriate documents for clients, focusing on tax implications.

Prepare 706 estate tax returns for review by an accountant.

Develop legal plans for clients' assets.

Under supervision of the firm’s principal attorney, analyze and plan case strategies to assist clients with estate distribution, tax reduction, and fee minimization.

Conduct legal research on state and federal tax laws, estate planning, wills and trusts, property, real estate, and family law.

Draft and review legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents, and assist with personal and business matters like retirement plans, life insurance policies, and charitable contributions.

Liaise with client representatives and other professionals to gather case information.

If a matter proceeds to probate court, assist in preparing the case for litigation under supervision.
