Position: Mid-Level Python Engineer / C++/C# / CICD Tools / Asset Management / Newport beach

Our client located in Newport Beach is a software and consulting company with long-standing client relationships and an emerging products division. Their primary expertise is in application development, data visualization, Information Technology (IT), and Their clients include large financial firms, utilities and Federal customers. They are urgently seeking a Python engineer with strong asset management or BIG 5 experience. The right candidate will also have exposure to other backend technologies like C++, Java or C# as well as web technologies and frameworks and CI/CD Pipelines.

They are one of the top financial trading and asset management companies in the US and offer a wide variety of skills development, big financial industry knowledge and the ability to expand your career and growth within the financial sector. This position would require working onsite 5 days a week in Newport Beach CA. This is a 12–18-month CTH opportunity.

Candidates MUST be able to work directly on a W2 basis with us without sponsorship and NOT through another organization or C2C.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Asset management experience or BIG 5 experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python; familiarity with C#, Java, or C++ is beneficial.
  • Interest in web development technologies, frameworks, and architectural concepts.
  • Experience working within an agile or iterative development process, and with associated tools (e.g., Jira, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with an ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.

What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown
  • 70% Python
  • 15% C# / C++/ or possibly some java
  • 15% Jira, Git, CI/CD pipelines
Daily Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications, primarily using Python
  • Collaborate with team members to build tools, frameworks, and applications that support investment research, data processing, and operational workflows.
  • Participate in an agile development process, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration activities.
  • Work across the full development lifecycle—from requirements gathering through deployment and support—ensuring high reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to web-based tools and interfaces, applying modern web development concepts and best practices.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance team capabilities.
