Budget Accountant

Our client, a well known healthcare firm, is targeting a detail-oriented Budget Accountant resource to join a growing finance team in a highly analytical, fast‑paced healthcare environment. This role requires strong independent judgment, advanced Excel skills, and experience supporting budgeting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.

• Perform complex accounting and cost analyses using independent judgment
• Prepare and analyze monthly estimated contractual adjustments, charity, and bad debt
• Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements
• Develop, maintain, and analyze annual operating budgets
• Prepare and file Federal, State, and Local tax returns
• Support reporting to the State COPN Regulatory Authority
• Interpret and communicate federal and state healthcare regulations
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, external consultants, and senior leadership
• Manage competing priorities and deadlines in a highly computerized environment

• Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • Master’s Degree in a related field (preferred)
• Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with budgeting, analysis, and financial statements (required)
  • Prior healthcare accounting/finance experience (preferred)
• Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (heavy use of pivot tables and advanced formulas)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Licenses & Certifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
