Project Estimator
We are seeking a highly skilled project estimator with over five years of experience in commercial estimation. The project estimator will collaborate closely with the owner, design team, and project management team. This role involves analyzing drawings, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare comprehensive time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects. The estimator will also be responsible for computing costs for materials purchased, leased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities, and labor.
This is a full‑time, salaried position.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare estimates.
- Compute costs for materials, leased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities, and labor.
- Collaborate directly with the owner, design team, and project management team.
- Develop budget estimates and schedules.
- Perform value management and develop procurement strategies.
- Solicit trade partner proposals and prepare final contract estimates.
- Five years of commercial construction experience as an estimator.
- Proficiency in Sage and on‑screen takeoff software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in estimation, construction, project management, and bidding.
- Understanding of construction estimating and pre‑construction processes.
- Knowledge of commercial construction and industry‑leading strategies.
- Ability to work in a team‑oriented, family‑owned company environment.
The position is based in an office environment with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100,000 – $125,000 per year.
