Adjunct Faculty Member - Fine Art & Art History
Position offered by Christopher Newport University’s College of Arts and Humanities.
Position SummaryThe Department of Fine Art and Art History invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach individual courses in Spring 2026. Candidates will serve as students‑first educators, delivering courses in Ceramics
, Sculpture
, and 2‑D and 3‑D Design
.
- Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, studio instruction, and assessments.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development.
- Earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in Fine Art, Art History, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours of related coursework.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Ready to conduct a background check as required by CNU.
- Cover letter addressing qualifications.
- Curriculum vitae/resume detailing relevant teaching and professional experience.
