RECREATION INCLUSION ASSISTANT – YOUTH PROGRAMS (PT)

This part‑time position (20–35 hours weekly) supports the Youth Programs division of the Parks and Recreation Department. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs and events to ensure accessibility for participants with disabilities; adapting activities for individual needs; implementing behavior plans; communicating with participants, supervisors, and parents; monitoring facilities for safety and cleanliness; and setting up and breaking down equipment.

$16.35 – $21.25 per hour, based on experience.

• Experience working with youth or individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of positive behavior supports, emotional regulation, or restorative practices.
• Team‑oriented mindset with creativity, patience, and flexibility.

• High school diploma and at least 2 years of related experience (or equivalent).
• Preference for candidates with training or coursework in recreation, therapeutic recreation, psychology, special education, occupational therapy, speech, sign language, or related fields.
• Must pass local and state criminal background check, sex‑offender registry check, and hold a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience with behavior management and de‑escalation preferred.
