Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis and documentation of results; constructs developmental assemblies, sub‑assemblies and components; and performs quality testing. Supports design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

• Experience with 3‑phase power
• Experience with Power Generation and Power Distribution technology on in‑service aircraft carriers
• Experience with circuit breakers, load centers, switchboards, ABTs, MBTs, Motor Controllers, etc.
