Analyze and design sequences of operations and workflows to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures, manage personnel training for all phases of production operations, conduct studies on cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems, and develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.

May assist facilities engineers in planning and designing facilities.

• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
• Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;
• Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Power Point; VBA experience a plus.
