PROJECT MANAGEMENT ANALYST 3 – HII Newport News Shipbuilding
Location: Newport News, VA
Job SummaryThe Project Management Analyst 3 supports SSN(X) and USW project management efforts, managing operational aspects of ongoing projects and serving as liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage operational aspects of ongoing projects, review status and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
- Assess project issues, develop resolutions, and maintain productivity, quality, and client‑satisfaction goals.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and providing problem‑solving interventions with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Support multiple and complex projects across disciplines, size, and scope with minimal guidance.
- Maintain and deliver program metrics, develop POA&Ms for technical work plans, cost accounting, and hour reporting.
- Communicate with internal parties and external partners, including industry partners and government teams (PMS 351, NAVSEA 05).
- Use MS Project and other project‑management tools for long‑term, integrated projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience, or Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Equivalent qualifications may include:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School graduate
- Associate’s Degree or other formal 2‑year program plus 2 years of exempt experience or 4 years of non‑exempt experience
- Military pay grade E‑5 or above
- High School/GED plus 4 years of manufacturing/shipbuilding/trades/military experience or 8 years of manufacturing/shipbuilding/trades/military experience.
- PM certification (Agile or PMP) or similar.
- Knowledge of submarine design, CVN 68/78 Class, or other relevant program experience.
- Experience with long‑term and complex integrated projects.
- US citizenship required.
- Position may require maintaining SECRET clearance.
- Clearance not required to start.
