This position is intended for the Propulsion Plant Data Entry/Display Terminal (PP-DE/DT) team within the Control and Information Systems (CIS) section of Department E70 (Propulsion Plant Planning Yard). The multidisciplinary team is responsible for lifecycle management of a commercial laptop system (PP-DE/DT) used to support maintenance and operation of propulsion plant components and systems. Responsibilities include configuration management of all associated software (OS, COTS and custom applications) and hardware (laptop, accessories, interface cables);
manual software acceptance testing; troubleshooting of connected electrical and electromechanical systems; technical writing; and other tasks related to the PP-DE/DT lifecycle.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience.
- Alternatively, Master's Degree with 0 years of relevant professional experience (not preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to prioritize work with limited oversight.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Innovative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience using MS Windows.
- Experience developing detailed technical correspondence for a broad audience.
- Linux (e.g., RHEL) experience.
