Position Summary
The Chief Information Officer is responsible for providing leadership, integrative management, and direction for the Group's shared information systems, to include group-wide strategic planning, budgeting for information technologies, and coordination and integration of all Practice IT matters. Recommends IT policy at the highest level. Serves as the Group's senior spokesperson on issues related to administrative, billing, and clinical information systems.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Provides group-wide leadership and direction in the management and operation of shared information services across TPMG.
- Leads, guides, and oversees the information technology budgeting process, and provides leadership in cost and productivity analysis.
- Leads the process of determining priorities, projects, and future directions of IT functions.
- Integrates and coordinates the development of and implementation IT programs across TPMG, to achieve maximum group-wide efficiencies and synergies; coordinates the identification and prioritization of required IT initiatives among the TPMG's various operating components.
- Provides direction and leadership in the review of present IT systems and methods, and in the formulation of new and revised systems.
- Maintains professional contacts with other physician practices, hospitals, equipment manufacturers, and professional organizations concerning existing and developing technologies.
- Leads the planning and development of TPMG-wide strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for information technology.
- Leads and guides the design, establishment, and maintenance of the organizational structure and staffing required to accomplish company goals and objectives in information technologies.
- Provides guidance and counsel to Executive Board in the examination and definition of objectives for existing and/or proposed information systems; the design of improved systems.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of current and developing information systems technology, equipment, and systems.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Leads and coordinates the development and implementation of integrated, strategic IT plans and policies for the TPMG.
- The ability to manage up and down. The CIO must be able to work collaboratively with all physicians and serve as dyad leader with Clinical Transformation Committeechair, Infrastructure Committee chair and Chief Medical Information Officer. They must also be able to foster a team environment when managing their direct reports and other members of IT administration.
- Technical skills. The CIO must have a working knowledge of computer coding, network design / function, security, and other areas currently performed by the IT division. They must be able to detect the credibility of vendors and consultants that advise our organization. Database management is a plus
- Business skills. The CIO must understand contracts, accounting / budgeting, project estimate and management, RFP development, and other business skills.

- Knowledge and understanding of the current and developing strategic information requirements of a large medical practice.
- Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
- Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the employment agreement.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Knowledge and understanding of the clinical and administrative functions of a medical practice.
- Ability to identify and secure alternative funding/revenue sources.

- Ability to direct multi-department technical and administrative staff.
