Overview
We are seeking a skilled RF Technician for a 12 month onsite opportunity with Endurance Client to support and maintain critical radio frequency (RF) communication systems that enable public safety, city services, and smart city initiatives. This role involves hands‑on work with land mobile radio (LMR), wireless networks, and related technologies to ensure reliable and secure communications across city departments.
Key Responsibilities- System Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain RF systems including LMR, public safety networks, and wireless infrastructure. - Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Monitor system performance, conduct signal tests, analyze network performance, and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime. - Equipment Repair:
Maintain and repair RF hardware such as transmitters, receivers, and antennas. - Compliance & Security:
Ensure RF systems meet regulatory standards and maintain secure communication channels. - Collaboration:
Work closely with city departments, external agencies, and vendors to support communication projects.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of RF principles and wireless communication standards (e.g., LTE, 5G).
- Proficiency with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with FCC regulations and spectrum licensing processes.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
- Experience with RF design and simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, HFSS).
- Knowledge of mapping software (e.g., Atoll, Map Info).
- Basic hands‑on experience with LAN installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (switches, routers, etc.).
- Associate degree or equivalent technical training in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in municipal or public safety RF systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- CompTIA Network+ certification is a plus but not required.
- Previous experience in municipal or public safety communications.
- Familiarity with smart city technologies and integration.
