- Maintain smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems and coordinate with network administrators.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products; make recommendations for hardware and software purchases.
- Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery solutions.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for computing resource allocation.
- Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system‑wide software, and allocate mass storage space.
Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience required. Equivalent qualifications for Information Technology positions include:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2‑year program plus 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non‑exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E‑5 or above military experience
- High School/GED plus 4 years of combined Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED plus 8 years of combined Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non‑exempt experience
- A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
