Position Overview
Trident Maritime Systems, LLC in Newport News, VA is seeking a skilled CNC Plasma Burning Table Operator/Programmer to join our team. This position is responsible for operating and programming CNC plasma burning tables to cut and prepare parts to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced with production equipment and material handling. Knowledge of Messer Burn Tables is a plus.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and program CNC plasma burning tables, including loading and unloading plates and nesting parts.
- Prepare machines for production by setting up plates, positioning torches, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Review and interpret job orders and technical drawings to produce accurate parts.
- Regulate processes and maintain job specifications by setting and adjusting machine controls.
- Safely operate all equipment including cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other material handling devices.
- Ensure quality standards are met by monitoring output and conducting inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to meet production goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience operating and programming CNC plasma cutting machines.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and job orders.
- Ability to safely operate cranes, hoists, and material handling devices.
- Proficient in reading a tape measure and performing basic math calculations.
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Knowledge of Messer Burn Tables preferred.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
- Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with CNC programming software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
