Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional Materials and Procurement Associate to join our team on a full-time basis. This on-site role supports multiple departments and is responsible for ensuring materials are received, tracked, stored, and issued accurately and on time. The position is based at our Newport News, VA facility and requires on-site attendance five days per week (no remote work).
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Ensure all parts are properly checked out and assigned to the appropriate aircraft or work order
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient materials department
- Track inventory levels and promptly communicate shortages, discrepancies, or issues to the Materials Manager
- Maintain adequate stock of consumables (e.g., paint, lubricants, sealants)
- Package and stage materials for the assembly team in accordance with assigned work orders
- Procure and manage components, materials, and supplies required for aircraft maintenance, repair, and operations
- Receive, inspect, and verify parts for serviceability and documentation compliance
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, both manually and electronically
- Package, issue, and file materials and associated documentation per company procedures
- Adhere to approved manufacturing processes and safety standards
- Support accurate tracking of materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
- Cooperate with the Safety Management System (SMS), including participation in corrective and preventive action efforts
- Verify that tools and equipment requiring calibration remain current and compliant
- Complete tasks and projects with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma with 0–3 years of related experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily tasks
- Self‑motivation and the ability to work under general supervision
- General knowledge of aviation regulations and standards
- Clerical and inventory control experience, including counting, organizing, and ordering parts
- A positive, team‑oriented attitude
- Prior experience in the aviation industry
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
