RN-Staff Nurse - OP Surgery Ctr

General Summary

The RN – O/P Staff Nurse plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice in either PACU/Day Surgery or the Operating Room (OR). Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Reports to department management.

• Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
• Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.

• Associates in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience required. BSN is preferred.
• For OR position, recent OR experience is required.
• For PACU position, recent PACU experience is preferred.
• RN certification preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• PALS and ACLS required within one year of hire.
• CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

• Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
