NSC Technologies is actively seeking motivated individuals to join our team for an immediate-start project in the Norfolk, VA area. We are hiring Heavy Lifting Laborers with experience in air hammer operation and concrete demolition. Candidates with a construction background are strongly preferred.
Position Overview
As a Heavy Lifting Laborer, you will be responsible for operating an air hammer to break down and remove concrete, assist in material handling, and support skilled trades workers in demolition and construction tasks. This is a physically demanding position that requires strength, endurance, and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate air hammers and other power tools for concrete demolition.
- Safely lift, move, and transport heavy materials (minimum 50 lbs).
- Assist skilled trades workers and site supervisors as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
- Perform general labor tasks such as debris removal, site clean-up, and material staging.
- Follow safety guidelines, including wearing PPE and working in noisy, dusty environments.
- Meet daily productivity and quality standards.
- Experience: Prior construction or demolition background preferred.
- Tools: Knowledge of air hammer operation and general hand tools required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy lifting, repetitive motion, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Safety: Must follow industrial safety protocols; OSHA 10/30 a plus.
- Outdoor and indoor demolition environments, including concrete structures.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and vibration from heavy tools and machinery.
- PPE provided; strict adherence to safety procedures required.
