Milton Keynes
£40 - 45K/annum
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding engineering team delivering innovative power and protection systems within highly regulated and technically challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor
Support system integration activities, ensuring compatibility across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines
Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and material selection
Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations
Support verification and validation activities, including testing, prototyping, and product development
Collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Experience in mechanical design within engineering or manufacturing projects
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles
Desirable Experience
Experience working within defence, aerospace, nuclear, rail, or other regulated industries
Familiarity with verification, validation, testing, and prototyping activities
Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must:
Be eligible to obtain DBS and BPSS clearance
Hold a UK passport or dual UK nationality
